Fashion Lab Winners at Hello Kitty Day

Yesterday Fashion Lab attended the Fluid World Hello Kitty event that popped up at the All Star Lanes bowling alley in Brick Lane. The brand strategy day celebrated Hello Kitty product from a variety of companies, including Fashion Lab.

The day included guest speeches from industry experts including Michael Wolff, Sebastian Conran, Sarah Swindell and James McKnight all of whom gave great insight and inspiration to the audience.

We were also treated to a group tour of the street art in and around Brick Lane by Street Art London, they’re experts in seeking out the newest street art that appears on walls, doors and street signs throughout London. Check out their website here http://streetartlondon.co.uk/.

The day closed with the Fluid World, Hello Kitty Design Awards. We had our fingers and toes crossed and were delighted when the Fashion Lab design for the full-sequin Hello Kitty dress was crowned ‘Product with the best application’. The dress was designed exclusively for TU @ Sainsbury’s, big congratulations to all involved in the creation of an outstanding product!

Hello Kitty Pop-up Event

Fashion Lab has received a cryptic Valentine’s Day invite to the Fluid World pop-up Hello Kitty event tomorrow. The details remain sketchy until nearer the time but all we know is we have to dress warm and wear sensible shoes. How exciting!

The day also includes the Hello Kitty Design Awards 2012. The awards are celebrating the best Hello Kitty product designed and produced this year. Fashion Lab has submitted a couple of entries, check back soon to see if we’re successful!

Fashion Lab Globe Trotters!

This week has seen the Fashion Lab teams jet off far and wide.

Our product development team have been working closely with our factories out in Turkey on some exciting development samples. Our design team have also been out patrolling the streets of Manhattan searching for next season’s inspiration.

There were loads of exciting products and great designs at Spring Fair 2012 yesterday. Apparently there were also 17 miles of walkway to explore in total; it certainly felt like it by the end of the day!
